Hello! Today I will talk about our final and last day at Niagara Falls, Canada.
In the morning, we had some left over food from the fish and chips restaurant I talked about in the last Niagara Falls Post and some cup ramen.
We had to get some gifts for our parents and we decided on getting them some Ice wine and maple syrup so we looked around for some alcohol stores including LCBO. Canadian Ice wine is well known worldwide so we bought a bottle of Iniskillin Vidal Ice wine and decided that we should get more bottles at the Ice wine vineyard we planned for the day.
After buying the ice wine, we went to The Ice House Winery in Niagara-on-the-lake which is the area that has a lot of wineries. We don’t drink a lot of alcohol and specifically, don’t like drinking wine except for ice wine, so I was quite excited to find a winery that only made ice wine. We went to the winery and took some photos in front of the store before going in.
It was a very small, cozy area that explained some of the process of making ice wine and we also signed up for the couples ice wine tasting. It is called the “An Ultimate Icewine Experience” for 24 Canadian dollars. The workers who explained everything to us were very kind and just in case, you should bring your ID! I was asked for my ID and almost didn’t pack it in the morning.
We were allowed to taste all their types of ice wine, Vidal (white wine), Riesling (red wine), Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. They also specialize making slushies! It was a bit cold for slushies, but it was still very good. I personally really like sweet wine, so my favorite was the Vidal. We didn’t realize how bad we were with alcohol and how hard it was to drink all the wine given to us...
Min and I couldn’t even finish half of it! The amount of wine they poured for each sip was a bit more than a shot. I felt bad for not being able to finish it all, but it was so much wine for us! At the end, we bought two bottles of Vidal and Cabernet Franc for our parents.
After drinking what we could, we drove a little bit out, but found a small area that we could take photos at! So we parked our car on the side and took some photos together as seen below!
(you can see more photos from our trip on our Instagram page as well if interested!)
We then went to a Japanese restaurant as our final food place to eat in Canada! We went to Masaki Sushi. We were worried that we needed a reservation, so we called ahead while driving and made a reservation. When we first arrived, it was very empty because it was about 4:30 pm but the restaurant had a very nice interior.
We ordered right away and we both got a tempura udon which came out at a reasonable speed and we were pleasantly surprised! The soup tasted very delicious and was warming after being in the cold for a while.

The next day we left for home and that was the end of our Niagara Falls Trip!
