[Travel] Niagara Falls, Canada Day 2. Greek Food, The Falls, Hornblower Cruise

Hello, today I will be talking about our second day at Niagara Falls, Ontario Canada!

We woke up a little bit later at the Best Western Hotel (I talked about this in my other post) and didn't eat breakfast. It took us a little bit to get ready for the day and we were also looking at the Niagara Falls Cruise online which we were going to do later that day. I will talk about this a little bit later!

We waited until the Greek restaurant, Koutouki Greek Cuisine Restaurant, opened up and we walked to the restaurant as it was only about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. We took some photos and passed by the DoubleTree Fallsview Resort which is a 4 star hotel that looked amazing on the outside and I assume it looks great on the inside as well. We talked about how let's go to a hotel even better than this for our honeymoon. :p

The environment of the restaurant was very nice and vibrant. Min and I had a chicken pita and a shrimp pita with a salad. The food all seemed very fresh and it was very delicious. It might have been because we were hungry due to no breakfast but regardless we had a good time.

Afterwards, we again, walked to Niagara Falls and passed through the Niagara Falls Fun Center. This center had lots of different activities such as a mini putt area, go cart racing, Ripley's Believe it or Not museum, a wax museum, an arcade center, and many other restaurants. We decided that we should come back here tomorrow and do some of these attractions, but never did.. But we did go into a candy store and bought a bag of candy which we ate throughout the day.

It was a five minute walk to actually see the Falls after we passed this center and wow the Niagara Falls are amazing! I came a number of times when I was a young child with my family, but I don't actually remember the family vacations a ton, which made it feel like I was seeing the Falls for the first time! Min was of course ecstatic because it was his absolute first time. We took more photos there and we must’ve looked a bit cute because there was this Chinese elderly grandma who gestured to us and offered to take our photos for us. We were a little bit reluctant at first but she actually took the best photos of us!

We went down to the cruise and got in line to get on the Hornerblower's Cruise. This one is the cruise on the Canadian side, the Maid of Mist Cruise is the cruise on the USA side in New York. Everyone gets a red poncho and also took a photo. We didn't get the photo but now I kind of wish we did. We were also wondering why they gave us a poncho for free, but you definitely need it. You get SOAKED! It was so great! It was a bit cold but literally without the poncho, you get really wet! The poncho didn’t reach parts of my legs which soaked all of my pants and Min’s head was all wet too. It was lots of fun! There is a place underneath on the boat where you can still see the waterfall without getting wet so people who don’t want to get wet are still able to enjoy the view and also have fun seeing other people getting soaked.

After the Falls, we went to a Starbucks and just waited there with some coffee and a pastry because we were waiting for our next restaurant, Piccadilly Restaurant, a fish and chips restaurant to open up. The reviews on the restaurant was pretty good and we were very excited to eat because I have never had real fish and chips and Min was hoping it was similar to how it was when he ate it in Europe. We were so hungry and wanted to go eat at our hotel so we got it to go. We unfortunately did not have any photos, but it was not as good as we expected. It was kind of a disappointment unfortunately.

We were pretty tired from the whole day so we just stayed in at the hotel. After we ate, we went to the pool and hot tub which was really nice! We had the area to ourselves so we just relaxed and had a good time till we went back to our room to shower and sleep.

This was it for our day 2! I will talk about our last and final day in another post!
