Right before the covid pandemic started, we went to Las Vegas in January 2020. No masks, no hand sanitizers, and people just swarming in the Las Vegas Strip.
Some of the activities we did might not have opened up quite yet currently (in 2021), but hopefully the world will go back to how it was eventually.
1. Cirque Du Soleil- the “O” Show
The water show that Cirque Du Soleil performs in Las Vegas. This was probably my favorite part of our trip. It was quite amazing to see the acrobats perform and we were able to get seats really close to the stage on the right side for a decent price. There are “water” seats in the rows closest to the stage where the guests could get wet during the performance, but we didn’t want to get wet, so we chose the row right in front of those seats.
2. Nathan Burton Magic Show
At the Saxe Theater in the Miracle Mile Shops Mall. We were able to get VIP seats right in the front row ($23 per person) for the Nathan Burton Magic Show. The show was performed by one magician, Nathan Burton and he did various tricks during the show. It was pretty entertaining, and Min was even chosen to pick a card from the deck for a magic card trick!
3. Miracle Mile Shops Mall
This mall was really beautiful! The ceiling of the mall was painted like a sky, so it felt like you were outside in sunny weather! There was also an edible cookie dough place. We got some cookie dough to eat, but it didn’t taste as good as I thought it would. :(
4. Bellagio Fountain Show
The Bellagio Hotel has a water fountain in front of their hotel which does a fountain show every 30 minutes, from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday through Friday and every 15 minutes from 8:00 PM to midnight. In the background, you can also see the Eiffel Tower lighting up at the Paris Hotel.
5. Walk through Las Vegas Strip
a. we loved watching the tv show, Hell’s Kitchen, so it was really amazing to be able to see the actual site and restaurant! We unfortunately didn’t eat there but went inside and saw the mini gallery of the chefs and the wall with the chef uniforms.
b. Instead, we ate Gordon Ramsay’s Fish and Chips which was absolutely delicious (but a bit pricey)
c. I’ve never had an In-N-Out burger before, so we grabbed a couple of burgers during our trip too.
6. Fashion Show Shopping Mall
We got Honeymee ice cream here which is an organic ice cream store made with raw honey. We got the original Honeymee ice cream with honeycomb and an iced tea. It was delicious! I’ve never eaten a honeycomb before so I was excited to try it with ice cream.
7.Our Hotel- Park MGM
There were several restaurants inside the hotel and an dining area with a variety of restaurants. Eataly and Primrose were two of the places we ate at. We had some pasta at Eataly and breakfast food at Primrose. Both were very tasty!
8. Grand Canyon tours
We decided not to do it last minute but they have a couple of options and have buses to pick you up from your hotel in Las Vegas and will drive you to the Grand Canyon sites and can either do a walking tour, bus tour, or even a helicopter tour.
9. Mandalay Bay Shark Reef Aquarium
This aquarium is located at the Mandalay Bay Hotel. We heard it was beautiful, but also decided not to go there during our trip.
